More Reasons for a Seattle to Hawaii Vacation

by Fergy

I could write for days about reasons to book a Seattle to Hawaii vacation package.  Today I would like to cover just a small sampling of the reasons, other than the beach; you would use to help you make a decision to go to Hawaii on your next vacation.  As previously stated, all of the Hawaiian Islands are home to a vast array of beautiful scenery and wonderful natural spots within easy access.  This opens up a world of opportunities for you and your traveling party, in terms of Hawaii activities.  It is also great for families whose members all have different likes and dislikes.  Popular land activities include hiking, biking, horseback riding, camping, and sightseeing.  Among the newer activities for the adventurous are Zip Line and ATV Tours.

If this was your first trip to the Hawaiian Islands, you would probably be stunned by the sheer beauty of these Islands of Aloha.  One of my favorite things to do, while on my Seattle to Hawaii vacation, is to go for short hikes into the countryside, or into the beautiful valleys that are a hallmark of Hawaii.  I have written about my hikes into Halawa Valley on Molokai, and Waipio Valley on the Big Island.  I have also talked about hikes on Kauai, and also the trek up Diamond Head in Waikiki.  There are also short hikes on Maui in the Iao Valley, and a great short 10 minute walk back to see Akaka Falls on The Big Island.  Speaking of those popular “waterfall” hikes; let me take a minute to direct you to the most visited waterfall in all of Hawaii, Waimea Falls on the North Shore of Oahu.  This waterfall has been home to many photo and film shoots due to the large pool at its feet.  Another great thing about this waterfall is that you walk about a mile through a spectacular botanical garden to get there.  Do this short 1 mile hike on paved pathways once, and you will yearn for more of the “natural” Hawaii.  I always tell my clients, you don’t have to spend a lot of money to experience Hawaii, just go for a little walk.

One of my favorite activities on a Seattle to Hawaii vacation, and another thing you should consider when exploring the Islands, is the idea of either renting bicycles or mopeds.  When I first visited friends in the islands, we used to travel the whole North Shore area on cruiser bikes and I loved it.  There is something about the freedom of a bicycle, particularly in Hawaii, that causes us adults to get that perpetual smile going.  My wife and I have rented mopeds many times on Maui, and I actually bought and used a moped as my form of transportation when I lived on The Big Island.  You can go just about anywhere on a bicycle or moped, and the parking is definitely a lot easier than a car.  Another good thing about bicycles and mopeds is the fact that if you see something that interests you along the road; it’s really easy to stop and take a quick look.  Again, it’s that freedom that makes these two forms of fun transportation a very exciting and fun way to explore Hawaii.

Tomorrow we will talk about some of the other ways to see and experience the land on your Seattle to Hawaii vacation.
