Are we back into familiar territory here? I think yes, as Tiger Wins 3 Before The Masters, it’s beginning to look like he has his form back. Can he be stopped when he looks like he is back?
First he started with a record 8th win in a place he loves, Torrey Pines, in beautiful La Jolla, Ca. Then he follows that up with a win at Doral. To top that today, he takes Arnold’s tourney for a record 8th time too. How does Tiger’s start to his season set with the rest of the tour players? One of the current crop of truly talented young golfers on tour, Justin Rose, has an answer for how everybody probably feels right about now. “He plays every shot like he plays them on Sunday,” Rose said, “His intensity is the same on Thursday often as it is on Sunday, and that makes Sunday a lot less different for him. He plays in that kind of atmosphere far more regularly than a lot of guys do, and it’s an adjustment for most of us. It’s a known for him.”
Here’s a wrap of just how extraordinary today’s win is. Number 1, he has tied the great Sam Snead for having won 8 tournaments twice in his career. Number 2, he is back as the number 1 ranked golfer in the world. Number 3 is that he is healthy and putting like the Tiger of old. That’s 3 things right there that may set him up to break his 5 year drought in the majors, and if not The Masters, then Merion GC, Ardmore, PA is course that suits Tiger’s game. If Tiger stays healthy, I think we will see a major in his pocket this year.
Looks like it’s going to be a great year in golf, because maybe this time, Tiger’s back……
A hui ho….
