PGA Tour 2012 Starts In Maui

by Fergy Ferguson

Are you ready?  It seems as if we have golf year around these days.   I personally don’t kick off my season until I get to watch the winners of the prior year tee it up at my favorite golf course in Maui.  The Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Kapalua 2012 starts next week and wraps up with a winner on January 9th.  Yep, the actual tournament is finishing on Monday this year.

There are some other cool things they have added this year to the tournament to make it more fan friendly too.  Thursday’s Pro-Am will sport free admission to all spectators.  The tournament will also allow all youth 18 years-old and under, accompanied by a ticketed adult, into the tournament free of charge all week long.

Military (active duty, retired and reserve) and their dependents will also be permitted on-site for free for the entire week.  Military members should bring their military ID to the gate for admission.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I think we might have a barn burner year on the PGA tour, particularly if Tiger gets his game back anywhere close to what he used to play like.  With all the young guns, and some of the established guys pushing him, it could lead to the old fire lighting up his game again.

Let em have at it….and let’s get 2012 under way…..
